Warmaster High Elves

High Elf army in "traditional" blue colour scheme (with a few, more recent, red and white units). This was my first 10mm army, and it is my largest. Both in painted figures and in figures available. There are 20 units of infantry, 16 of cavalry and 8 specials painted.

In Warmaster terms this is 5500 pts painted, and over 7000 pts in total, though that does include 1000 pts of Dragons! An earlier version of this army is shown here when it was under 2000pts in size.

Back row: Silver Helms (7), Reavers (6), Chariots (3) and Dragons (2)

Middle row: Bolt Throwers (2), Spearmen (10), Eagles (4)

Front row: Archers (10)

Heroes

The High Elf command pack contains a wide variety of figures so many different command figures are available.

Dragons

Archers & Spearmen

Plastic BoFA Elves, painted as wood elves, though they look rather gray in these photos.

Two units of archers and two of spearmen, all metal GW Warmaster High Elf figures. Painted in red and white, to go with the red Dragon, and to provide some contrast from all the blue.

The core of the army, 2 units of spearmen and 2 of archers.

More spearmen and archers. The back right unit is the alternative Swordsmen of Hoeth figures, which are currently (2011) going for nearly £50 a unit on eBay.

These 4 units are BoFA plastic humans - but they seem to fit with the High Elf army. They will probably get used with my Empire Army as soldiers from a less advanced province, along with a couple of units of Bretonnian knights.

Giant Eagles

Two units of Warmaster metal eagles, which are too big for the bases and need careful arrangement to fit together as a unit. And two units of the much smaller BoFA plastic eagles. I have mounted these on brass rod, and the eagles can be rotated to either face forwards to the short edge, or to the long edge of the base.

Silver Helms

The key strike force - Silver Helm knights.

Reavers

Reavers - long range horse archers

Chariots

Just three units of chariots - hard hitting but fragile.

Bolt Throwers

Two units of bolt throwers - have a bit more range than archers, and several units can fit on a small frontage, but slow moving. So I tend to prefer archers over them.
