Armoured Recce Regiment
In the 11th Armored Division the Armored Recce Regt was the 15/19 King's Royal Hussars (from 8th Aug '44). As an Armoured Recce Regt, the principle tank was the Cromwell, supplemented by Challengers (with 17 pdrs) from Sept '44. The organisation of the Regt was very similar to that of Sherman equiped regiments.
The intial role of ARR had been intended for recce, but by later 44 after Corps Armoured Car Regts had been fairly permantly attached to the Armoured Divisions, the ARR tended to be used as another Armoured Regt. This balanced the armoured division, giving it 4 armoured regts and 4 infantry regts.

Model Photos
These are all Pithead models, with a couple of the command tanks having commanders. Painted with a black undercoat, then a couple of heavy dry brushes of Vallejo Russian Uniform, with some light highlighting of 50:50 Russian Uniform : Pale Sand. Need decals and weathering to finish them off.
The sabre squadrons in three quarter view. Showing the extra size of the Challenger, it has an extra road wheel, and a much taller turret, and bigger gun. All with the same engine.
